A couple is suing after the husband sustained injury on a rented scissor lift.

Randy and Earline Lahman filed a lawsuit Feb. 7 in the U.S. Court for the Eastern District of Texas Marshall Division against JLG Industries Inc. and Oshkosh Corp.

According to the complaint, on July 11, 2012, the Lahmans rented a JLG scissor lift from Chapman Rentals to cut down a tree at Earline's place of business.

The plaintiffs say as Randy Lahman was working on the tree, a branch struck the unstable lift, knocking it into a nearby building and causing him to fall more than 20 feet to the ground and sustain a head injury.

JLG is accused of designing and manufacturing an unreasonably dangerous and defective product.

Randy and Earline Lahman are seeking more than $75,000 in damages.

They are being represented in the case by attorneys E. Todd Tracy, Andrew G. Counts and Stewart D. Matthews of The Tracy Firm.
