Woman sues after alleged dog attack

A woman is suing over claims she was attacked by dogs, resulting in serious injury.

Maria Ramos filed a lawsuit Feb. 11 in the Galveston County District Court against Mickey McClendon, citing strict liability and negligence.

The plaintiff says on April 23, 2012, she sustained serious injuries when the defendant's dogs attacked and mauled her while she was on her property at 3024 Ave. P 1/2.

Ramos claims the defendant failed to restrain the dogs and alleges they knew the dogs had a vicious propensity, according to the complaint.

She is seeking an undisclosed amount in damages, including punitive damages.

She is being represented in the case by attorney Michael G. Martinez.
