Port Arthur resident named in foreclosure application

Ovation Service LLC filed a Verified Application for Expedited Order Allowing Foreclosure on Feb. 10 in the Jefferson County District Court.

Ovation seeks to foreclose on a home owned by Marva Ann Holmes of Port Arthur.

Ovation seeks to foreclose on Holmes' house at 509 Thomas Blvd. in Port Arthur. Holmes allegedly entered into a arrangement in 2012 with GFH Funding Ltd. whereby Holmes would issue a promissory note to GFH and in exchange GFH would pay off Holmes' outstanding property taxes in the amount of $15,394.68. The note was apparently secured by a Deed of Trust-Tax Lien.

GFH says they paid Holmes' outstanding tax bill, but Holmes has defaulted on the note, according to the suit. GFH claims the amount to cure Holmes' default is $20,481.93.

Ovation is being represented by attorney Dan Young.
