Car accident results in lawsuit for Jefferson County driver

A Jefferson County woman is suing over injuries which were allegedly caused by a car accident in 2012. 


Brenda Richmond has filed suit in the Jefferson County District Court on Feb. 18, naming Stacy Alvin Trero as the defendant.

According to Richmond's complaint, she was traveling northbound on Pearl Street in Beaumont when Trero hit her. Richmond says Trero was in the left lane when he suddenly swerved into the middle lane and hit Richmond's car on the driver's side.

Richmond accuses Trero of failing to look before he switched lanes, failing to control his speed and general negligence. Richmond claims she was injured in the accident and has filed this suit to recover damages.

Richmond seeking more than $100,000 in damages.

She is being represented by attorney J. Trenton Bond of the Portner Bond Law Firm in Beaumont.
