A Jefferson County man is suing another driver after allegedly being rear-ended in May.

Telismar Semien is suing Caleb Joseph Barina in the Jefferson County District Court. Semien's lawsuit was filed Feb. 18, and accuses Barina of negligent driving.

Semien says that on May 8, he was driving west on Lucas Drive in Beaumont, when the accident occurred. Semien claims he slowed down because there was traffic in front of him. Apparently, when he slowed down, Barina failed to control his speed and collided into the rear of his vehicle.

Semien says he was injured in the accident and seeks to hold Barina liable for his injuries.

Semien is seeking more than $100,000 in damages. He is being represented by attorney Tom Oxford of the Waldman Smallwood Law Firm.
