Man sues after being struck in vehicle collision

A man is suing a driver after sustaining injuries in a vehicle crash.

Christopher Dollins filed suit Feb. 18 in the Jefferson County District Court against Elvia Vela, citing negligence.

The lawsuit states Dollins was a passenger in a vehicle that made a right hand turn onto the 100 block of North 18th Street with Vela stopped at the stop sign. As the driver with Dollins made the turn, Vela began reversing and struck the back passenger door behind the driver’s seat, according to the complaint. Dollins claims he suffered severe injuries from the incident.

Dollins is suing for damages up to $1 million, pre and post judgment interest, plus court costs.

He is being represented by J. Trenton Bond of Portner Bond PLLC.
