A Sherman resident is suing over claims of discrimination.
Bobby John Thomas filed a lawsuit March 10 in the United States Court for the Eastern District of Texas against Postmaster General Patrick R. Donahoe, the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and the US Postal Service, citing violation of the Civil Rights Act of 1964.
The complaint states the plaintiff was employed by the US Postal Service and experienced discrimination from September 2009 through June 2012. The plaintiff alleges he was discriminated against based on his age and for filing an EEOC complaint.
Thomas is seeking an undisclosed amount in damages.
