Plaintiff NovelPoint Tracking (NPT) is a Texas limited liability company based in Plano.

The defendants are accused of infringing on U.S. Patent No. 6,442,485 issued Aug. 27, 2002, for a Method and Apparatus for an Automobile Location, Collision Notification and Synthetic Voice.

NPT is seeking compensatory damages no less than a reasonable royalty, interest, costs, expenses, attorneys' fees and other equitable relief. A jury trial is requested.

Andrew Spangler of Spangler Law PC in Longview is representing NPT. Attorneys Stamatios Stamoulis and Richard Weinblatt  of Stamoulis & Weinblatt LLC in Wilmington, Del., are of counsel.

The cases have been assigned to District Judge Leonard E. Davis.

Plaintiff Logitrac is a Texas limited liability company located in Tyler.

The defendants are accused of infringing on: 

U.S. Patent No. 6,556,905 for an invention titled Vehicle Supervision and Monitoring.

U.S. Patent No. 6,975,222 for an Asset Tracking Apparatus and Method.

According to the complaints, the '905 Patent is a prominent patent in the field of vehicle supervision and monitoring. The '905 Patent has been forward-cited  in more than 50 subsequently issued U.S. patents to date, including patents originally assigned to such prominent companies as IBM, Robert Bosch, Ford and Progressive Insurance, the suits claim.

The '222 Patent has been forward-cited in more than 10 subsequently-issued U.S. patents to date, including a patent originally assigned to MIT, according to the suits.

Logitraq is seeking to enjoin defendants from further infringement or a running royalty, interest, costs and other relief. A jury trial is requested.
