Ranchers and Farmers Insurance sued for allegedly underpaying claim

A Randall County woman is suing over claims her insurance company underpaid her claim after a storm damaged her property.

Yudit Salazar filed a lawsuit March 17 in the Jefferson County District Court against Ranchers and Farmers Insurance Co. and Corbin Kellison, citing breach of contract and bad faith.

According to the complaint, on May 28, Salazar's home was damaged by a storm that hit Amarillo. Salazar says her home is insured by Ranchers and Farmers Insurance, but they underpaid the claim.

Salazar further states Kellison acted as the claim adjuster and conducted a substandard investigation that lead to underpayment of the claim.

Salazar is seeking more than $100,000 in damages.

She is being represented in the case by attorneys Richard D. Daly and Ana M. Ene of Richard Daly Law Firm in Houston.
