A Jefferson County woman is suing over claims a young boy sustained injuries after a pool accident.

Ayesha Blackmore, friend of Kingston Chamwada, filed a lawsuit March 14 in Jefferson County District Court against Oak Grove Apartments and J. Allen Management Co. Inc., citing negligence.

According to the suit, Blackmore claims on Feb. 9, 2013, Chamwada was found floating face down in the defendants' pool at 10770 Barely Lane in Houston.

The suit alleges the gate around the pool was broken, allowing Chamwada to get into the pool area and fall in the pool. According to the complaint Chamwada was resuscitated, but the incident resulted in a permanent brain injury.

Blackmore is seeking damages, interest, attorney fees and court costs.

She is being represented in the case by Houston attorneys Brian Beckcom and Bryon C. Alfred of Vujasinovic & Beckcom PLLC.
