Alfonso kennard jr

A rig welder is suing after allegedly experiencing race discrimination while working for a Houston construction company.

Kenneth W. Sennett filed a lawsuit March 25 in the Houston Division of the United States District Court for the Southern District of Texas against Catalyst Construction LLC, citing race discrimination and quantum meruit.

The complaint states the plaintiff began working for the defendant in September 2010 as a rig welder. Shortly after Sennett began working for the defendant, he began to experience discrimination in the form of extremely racist comments, according to the complaint.

The plaintiff says the defendant committed other acts of discrimination, including refusing to pay the plaintiff for his work and refusing to give him additional work assignments.

Sennett is seeking damages within the jurisdictional limits, including the amount of unpaid compensation, plus fees and costs.

The plaintiff is being represented in the case by Alfonso Kennard Jr. of Kennard Blankenship Robinson PC.
