A Jefferson County resident is being sued for allegedly wrongfully executing a deed and converting property and funds.
Jefferson C. Garvin and Sharon Garvin filed a lawsuit April 3 in the Jefferson County District Court against Delphine Permenter, individually and as Trustee of the Sherrill Garvin Special Needs Trust.
The complaint states the plaintiffs owned land in Jefferson County and on May 7, the defendant, while purportedly acting as the plaintiffs' attorney in fact, conveyed the property by deed. Jefferson C. Garvin and Sharon Garvin state they do not believe they authorized execution of the deef and dispute its validity.
The plaintiffs further allege the defendant has converted and misapplied the plaintiffs personal property and/or funds.
The plaintiffs are seeking an accounting, a judgment setting aside the deed, damages, interest and costs.
They are being represented in the case by attorney Robert B. Dunham of Dunham Hallmark PLLC in Beaumont.
