Federal prisoner sues claiming he was denied medical care

A federal prisoner in Beaumont is suing, alleging he was wrongfully denied medical care for a shoulder injury.


John Ballester filed a lawsuit April 7 in the Jefferson County Court against warden John Womble, citing the United States Constitution and Texas Constitution. 

The complaint states Ballester is in custody of the Federal Bureau of Prisons in Beaumont. The plaintiff alleges he has been denied medical treatment for his shoulder injury by Womble in violation of the Constitution.

Ballester is seeking $100,000 in damages for violation of the Constitution, $1,000,000 in punitive damages and nominal damages.

The plaintiff is representing himself in the case.
