A Tomball resident is suing his former employer, Halliburton, for discrimination based termination.

Jonas Hollins filed a lawsuit April 11 in the Houston Division of the United States District Court for the Southern District of Texas against Halliburton Co., Halliburton Energy Services Inc. and Halliburton DBS Inc., citing discrimination.

The complaint states Hollins was hired by the defendant on June 20, 2011, to work as an assembly welder. The plaintiff alleges he was wrongfully terminated in 2012 based on his race and in retaliation for filing a discrimination complaint.

Hollins is seeking an undisclosed amount in damages.

The plaintiff is being represented in the case by Nastasha N. Anderson and Bruce A. Coane of Coane & Associates PLLC in Houston.
