Upshur County man sued after driving under tractor trailer

A Georgia man is suing after he was injured in a car accident.


Joseph Randall Chaput filed a lawsuit April 14 in the Marshall Division of the Eastern District of Texas against William Avery Griffin, citing negligence. 

According to the suit, on Oct. 20, 2012, Chaput was driving a tractor trailer south on U.S. Highway 271 near Border Street in Gilmer. He alleges Griffin failed to yield the right of way and drove his vehicle up under Chaput's trailer.

Chaput claims he was injured in the collision.

He is seeking damages in an amount within the jurisdictional limits, interest and court costs.

He is being represented by attorney Alan J. Robertson of Sloan, Bagley, Hatcher and Perry Law Firm in Longview.
