A Jefferson County resident is suing after sustaining injuries when a dump truck collided with her vehicle.
Brandi Denee Griffin filed a lawsuit April 11 in the Jefferson County Court against Rush Waste Services LLC and Billy Joe Loftin, citing negligence and gross negligence.
The complaint states Griffin was driving northbound in the 5600 block of Highland Avenue in Beaumont when Loftin struck the plaintiff's vehicle with the dump truck he was driving. Loftin was working in the course and scope of his employment with Rush Waste Services at the time of the accident, according to the complaint.
The plaintiff states Loftin committed negligence and gross negligence and Rush Waste Services is vicariously liable.
Griffin is seeking monetary relief of more than $200,000, but not more than $1 million.
The plaintiff is being represented in the case by Malachi Daws of The Daws Law Firm.
