Accidentpedestriandeath

A Jefferson County woman is suing over claims she sustained injuries after she was hit by a car while walking on the street.

Tracy Mahon filed a lawsuit April 21 in the Jefferson County District Court against Tony Duhon and Iesha Bentley, citing negligence.

Mahon claims she suffered injuries when she was walking in the 700 block of Ninth Street in Beaumont and was hit by the defendant's vehicle, causing her injuries.

According to the brief, Duhon failed to keep a proper lookout, was driving too fast and didn't timely apply his brakes, resulting in the accident. The suit alleges Bentley negligently entrusted Duhon with her vehicle.

Mahon is seeking damages in an amount within the jurisdictional limits of the court, interest and court costs.

She is being represented in the case by attorneys A. Mark Faggard.
