A Harris County flooring company is suing after a client refused to pay for services and materials.
Gulf Coast Flooring and Services filed a lawsuit May 22 in the Galveston Division of the Southern District of Texas against Shawn LePorte and Hemarani Sivarajan, citing Texas Theft Liability Act and Consumer Protection Act.
The plaintiff claims it entered into an agreement with defendant LePorte to supply labor, equipment and materials for flooring installation on Camino Court in Texas City.
According to the suit, the plaintiff fulfilled his end of the agreement, but LePorte has not paid him the total sum of $5,709.73.
The plaintiff is seeking an order establishing Gulf Coast Flooring's lien on the property, foreclosure on the lien, the sum of $5,709.73, attorneys fees, interest and court costs.
It is being represented by Houston attorney Christina Stone of Gaughan Stone and Thiagarajan.
