AUSTIN (Legal Newsline) – Texas state Sen. Wendy Davis, the Democratic gubernatorial candidate for governor, has reportedly raised $27 million since launching her campaign.

On Tuesday, the Davis campaign announced it raised $27 million from more than 140,000 contributors since July 2013, already surpassing the $26.3 million raised by Democratic gubernatorial candidate Bill White during the entire 2010 cycle.

“Not only has this campaign raised record-breaking resources from more than 140,000 grassroots supporters, we have made unprecedented investments on the ground and online that will translate the excitement for Wendy Davis into votes on Election Day,” said Zac Petkanas, spokesman for the Davis campaign.

The Davis campaign is reporting it raised $11.2 million from more than 72,000 contributors from Feb. 23 to June 30 and currently has $13.1 million cash on hand.

The $11.2 million accounts for the resources raised by the Texas Victory Committee and the Wendy R. Davis Campaign. The cash on hand combined includes $12 million for the Wendy R. Davis for Governor campaign and the Texas Victory Committee as well as $1.1 million for Battleground Texas.

Davis will face Attorney General Greg Abbott in the general election.
