Man claims driver followed vehicle too closely

A man has filed suit against the driver he claims was following his vehicle too closely, causing a collision.

Rocky Sealy filed suit July 30 in the Galveston County District Court against Charles Lee Flores.

According to the complaint, Sealy was driving on Interstate Highway 45 near Texas City on Nov. 30 when the defendant struck his vehicle.

Because of the collision, Sealy suffered physical pain and mental anguish, endured physical impairment and incurred medical costs, according to the complaint. He also lost wages and his wage earning capacity, the suit states.

Flores negligently followed Sealy’s vehicle too closely, failed to keep a proper lookout, failed to control his speed, failed to timely brakes and failed to steer to the left or right to avoid a collision, the complaint says.

Sealy is seeking actual damages within the jurisdictional limits plus pre- and post-judgment interest, costs and other relief the court deems just.

He is being represented by attorney Clyde J. Jackson of Abraham, Watkins, Nichols, Sorrels, Agosto and Friend in Houston.
