A man claims he sustained various injuries after a pressure washer malfunctioned, spraying water at him.

Alejandro Damian filed a lawsuit July 29 in the Jefferson County District Court against NLB Corp.

In his complaint, Damian alleges he was utilizing a high-pressure water jetting unit manufactured by NLB to wash a tank at the Valero Refinery in Port Arthur. When Damian released the handle of the jetting unit to reposition himself, however, the unit malfunctioned and water continued to spurt forth from it, according to the complaint.

The unit began to fly around while it was blowing the high-pressure water, thereby injuring the plaintiff, the suit states.

In addition to his injuries, Damian suffered physical pain and disfigurement, endured mental anguish and incurred medical costs, the complaint says. He also claims he suffered physical impairment and lost his earning capacity.

Damian seeks actual damages, plus pre- and post-judgment interest at the highest legal rate, costs and other relief the court deems just.

He is being represented by attorney Corey Gomel of Gomel and Associates in Houston.
