A woman has filed suit against the driver she claims struck her vehicle while driving under the influence.
Morgan Keys filed suit July 30 in the Jefferson County District Court against Logan French and Glen French.
According to the complaint, Keys was driving north in the center lane on Wellborn Road on Aug. 6, 2012, when she approached an intersection with the eastbound feeder onto Harvey Mitchell Parkway in College Station.
At the same time, defendant Logan French, who was driving a 2001 Toytoa Camry entrusted to him by defendant Glen French, attempted to make a left turn onto the parkway, according to the complaint. In the midst of the turn, French struck Keys’s vehicle, the suit states.
Due to the collision, Keys incurred medical costs, experienced physical pain and suffering, endured physical impairment and suffered mental anguish, the complaint says.
Keys blames Logan French for causing the collision, claiming he was driving while under the influence of alcohol, failed to keep a proper lookout, failed to turn to avoid a collision, failed to yield the right-of-way and failed to timely apply his brakes.
Glen French is also named as a defendant because he negligently entrusted his vehicle to Logan French, knowing he was an incompetent and unfit driver, according to the complaint.
Keys seeks actual damages, plus pre- and post-judgment interest, costs and other relief the court deems just.
She is being represented by attorneys Mike Love and Sam Johnson of Mike Love and Associates in Lufkin.
