A Beaumont man alleges he was hurt when rear-ended on a Jefferson County highway.
Joe D. Stegall filed the complaint against Diana Watson-Mitchell on Aug. 12 in Jefferson County District Court.
According to the complaint, Stegall was driving south in the 8300 block of U.S. Highway 69 on Dec. 19, 2013, when he was hit from behind by Watson-Mitchell's vehicle. As a result of the crash Stegall says he received injuries to his neck, back, ankle, foot and body.
Stegall accuses Watson-Mitchell of negligence for allegedly failing to keep a proper lookout, failing to control her vehicle and failing to take the evasive action necessary to avoid a crash. He is asking for an unspecified amount of money in damages for medical expenses, pain and suffering, loss of earnings and mental anguish.
Attorney Thomas O. Moses of Beaumont represents Stegall. They seek a jury trial.
