A Jefferson County woman seeks to be paid for managing property she co-owns in Beaumont.
Shannon Gibson filed a lawsuit Aug. 20 in Jefferson County District Court against Christopher Bryant.
According to the petition, Gibson and Bryant co-own two pieces of investment property in the Westwood Meadows subdivision, with the value of both properties totaling more than $121,000.
Gibson alleges she has managed and paid for both properties' expenses, taxes and insurance without any financial assistance from Bryant. She says those expenditures should be split equally.
Gibson asks for a recovery pro rata share of what she paid in excess of 50 percent of the value. She also asks for the properties to be partitioned by an arbitrator, with her receiving the higher valued share to compensate for what she has already spent managing the properties. Gibson also asks to be awarded court costs.
Attorney P. Dean Brinkley, of Templeton & Brinkley in Beaumont, represents Gibson.
