Woman blames alleged head injury on Beaumont man

A Beaumont man is being blamed for a head injury a woman allegedly received when attacked at his house.

Benee Blanchard filed a lawsuit against Marc Greenberg on Aug. 20 in Jefferson County District Court.

Blanchard says she was invited by Greenberg to his house in the 200 block of Summerwood in October 2012. While Blanchard was there, another woman, also invited by Greenberg, allegedly pushed her, causing Blanchard to hit her head as she fell.

According to the complaint, Blanchard doesn't remember being taken back to her house that night but that's where she woke up, with little memory of what happened.

Blanchard alleges she was hospitalized the next day and had to undergo surgery for a traumatic brain injury.

Greenberg is accused of negligence for arranging both women to be at his house at the same time, knowing an attack would take place.

Blanchard asks for more than $200,000 in damages for medical expenses, pain, suffering and loss of income.

Attorneys John Pat Parsons and Michael J. Lindsay of Lindsay Lindsay & Parsons in Beaumont, represent Blanchard. They request a jury trial.
