Legal reform group endorses GOP justice to Dallas appellate court

Stoddart

DALLAS (Legal Newsline) – A month after his appointment, Justice Craig Stoddart received the endorsement of Texans for Lawsuit Reform PAC to the Fifth Court of Appeals in Dallas.

Seeking to replace retired Justice Jim Moseley, Gov. Rick Perry appointed Stoddart to the appellate court on Aug. 25 for a term to expire on Nov. 4, Election Day.

“Justice Craig Stoddart brings a record of excellence and achievement to the Dallas Court of Appeals,” said Richard J. Trabulsi Jr., TLR PAC chairman.

“Following his appointment by Gov. Rick Perry earlier this year, he has quickly proved to be a great asset to the Texas Fifth Court of Appeals. TLRPAC is proud to endorse his election.”

Stoddart, a Republican, will face District Judge Ken Molberg, a Democrat, in the general election.

Before his appointment to the Fifth Court of Appeals, Stoddart served as the first assistant criminal district attorney for Rockwall County. He has served as an appellate prosecutor for over 22 years.

Stoddart earned his law degree from Texas Tech University School of Law and his undergraduate degree from the University of North Texas.

TLR PAC is the political arm of Texans for Lawsuit Reform, the state’s largest civil justice reform organization.
