A Harris County man has filed suit against the driver whom he alleges failed to yield at a stop sign.

David Alfaro alleges he was driving his 2004 Chevrolet 150 on 200 Marina Bay on April 30, 2013, when defendant Mark Jennings, who was driving a 2005 Dodge pickup, failed to yield the right-of-way at a stop sign and struck Alfaro's vehicle.

Due to the collision, Alfaro incurred medical costs, experienced pain and suffering, endured mental anguish and suffered disability, according to the complaint filed Aug. 25 in Galveston County District Court.

Alfaro blames Jennings for causing the collision, alleging he negligently failed to timely apply his brakes, failed to keep a proper lookout, failed to take proper evasive action and failed to keep his vehicle under proper control.

In his complaint, Alfaro seeks actual damages in excess of the minimum jurisdictional limits of the court, plus pre- and post-judgment interest, costs and other relief the court deems just.

Jorge L. Gomez, of Gomez Law Firm in Houston, will represent Alfaro.
