Woman files suit over Galveston accident

A woman has filed suit against the driver whom she alleges struck her vehicle.

Leah Drummer alleges she was driving east on Seawall Boulevard in Galveston on March 16, 2013, when defendant Kathryn Marie Hileman failed to control her speed and struck Drummer's vehicle.

Because of the collision, Drummer incurred medical costs, experienced extreme physical pain and suffering and endured mental anguish, according to the complaint filed Sept. 18 in Galveston County District Court. She also suffered disfigurement and physical impairment, the suit states.

Hileman negligently failed to maintain a proper lookout, failed to control her speed and drove inattentively, the complaint says.

In her complaint, Drummer seeks an unspecified judgment, plus interest at the legal rate, costs and other relief the court deems just.

Attorneys James E. Payne, Jennifer Job Seale and Ronnie Turner Jr. of Provost Umphrey Law Firm in Beaumont will represent Drummer. Galveston County District Court case number: 14-CV-988
