Woman blames motorcyclist for wreck, injuries

A woman has filed suit against the motorcycle driver whom she alleges caused a collision.

Carol Mosby alleges she was riding on the back of a Harley Davidson motorcycle defendant Jimmy Kenneth Greer Jr. was driving at the intersection of Craig Street and Neches Street in Beaumont on Sept. 21, 2012. At the same time, an 18-wheeler was driving east on Craig Street, according to the complaint filed Sept. 17 in Jefferson County District Court.

"When the 18-wheeler had nearly cleared the intersection, defendant slammed his motorcycle into the trailer of the 18-wheeler causing him and plaintiff to go flying off the motorcycle and skidding across the street," the suit states.

Because of the collision, Mosby suffered face, ribs, neck, back and body injuries; remained in the hospital for four days; and underwent extensive medical treatment, the complaint says.

Mosby says Greer negligently failed to drive in a safe manner, failed to pay attention, failed to control his speed, drove under the influence and failed to take proper evasive action to avoid the collision.

In her complaint, Mosby seeks an unspecified judgment, plus pre- and post-judgment interest and other relief the court deems just.

Attorney Malachi Daws of The Daws Law Firm in Beaumont will represent Mosby.
