Man sues Classic Chevrolet after collision

A Jefferson County man is suing over claims he was injured in a collision with a Classic Chevrolet employee.

Albert Michael Jenkins filed a lawsuit Sept. 25 in Jefferson County District Court against Fred William Minton and Southeast Texas Classic Automotive Inc., doing business as Classic Chevrolet, citing negligence.

According to the complaint, Jenkins was driving east on Interstate 10 on Nov. 5, 2012, when his vehicle was rear-ended by the vehicle Minton was driving in the scope of his employment in a managerial capacity with Classic Chevrolet.

The complaint states the plaintiff was injured as well as the defendants' passengers. Jenkins says he was taken to the hospital for back injuries and has incurred medical expenses more than $12,000, plus lost wages.

Minton is accused of negligence, and Classic Chevrolet is sued citing respondeat superior. Jenkins seeks compensatory damages, interest, costs of court and punitive exemplary damages.
