Three-car collision leads to lawsuit

A Brazoria County woman is suing over claims she was injured in a three-car collision on FM 517.

Susan M. Burdick filed a lawsuit Oct. 13 in Galveston County District Court against Lien To Truong, Theodore Ray Bort and Linda Singer, citing negligence.

According to the complaint, Burdick was driving east on FM 517 in Dickinson and stopped at a red light on Sept. 9 when Truong, who was driving behind her, failed to control her speed and struck the back of Burdick's vehicle.

The complaint states Bort, who was driving Singer's vehicle behind Truong, also failed to stop, hitting Truong's vehicle and causing it to strike Burdick's vehicle again.

Truong and Bort are both accused of negligence in failing to control their speed and avoid a collision, while Singer is accused of gross negligent entrustment. Burdick is seeking less than $100,000 in damages, including medical expenses, interest and court costs.

She is being represented in the case by attorneys Robert D. Clements Jr. and Patrick "Pat" Huzinec of The Law Office of Robert D. Clements Jr. and Associates in Alvin.
