A Galveston County man filed suit against a driver who allegedly caused a collision where he was injured.
Patrick Courtney filed a complaint Sept. 23 in Galveston County District Court against Donald Shinette, citing negligence and liability.
According to the complaint, on Dec. 5, 2012, defendant Shinette was driving his own vehicle when he collided into a vehicle owned and operated by Adam Barker. Courtney was a passenger in Barker's vehicle and sustained physical injuries, the suit states. Shinette was issued a citation for failing to yield the right of way at a stop intersection, the complaint states. The defendant allegedly caused the collision due to this negligence.
Courtney seeks damages of up to $200,000, plus court costs.
He is represented by attorney Anthony L. Bannwart of Bannwart & Associates in Houston.
