Highway 105 wreck results in lawsuit

A Jefferson County man is suing over claims he was injured in a collision on state South Highway 105.

Barry Brooks filed a lawsuit Sept. 30 in Jefferson County District Court against Kolin Glidden, citing negligence.

According to the complaint, Brooks was driving on South Highway 105 in Beaumont on Aug. 18, 2013, when Glidden failed to yield right of way, changed lanes when it was unsafe to do so and struck Brooks' vehicle, causing injuries to the plaintiff. The complaint states Glidden was issued a citation for failing to control his speed and he is accused of negligence and gross negligence.

Brooks seeks compensatory damages, including medical expenses, loss of earnings and loss of earning capacity, actual damages, exemplary damages, interest and costs of court.
