A woman filed a lawsuit against a driver and his employer alleging vehicular negligence that resulted in her child being hurt.
Tamesha Baylor, as next friend of minor Brooklyn Baylor, filed a complaint against Kentucky resident Zaim Mehmedovic and GRMI Logistics, a Michigan company, in the Marshall Division of the Eastern District of Texas on July 2, claiming liability in a June collision.
According to the suit, Brooklyn Baylor was a passenger in a vehicle traveling south on Highway 69 in Hunt County, TX on or about June 17. The suit states that Mehmedovic, acting in his capacity of GRMI employee, ran a red light and struck the plaintiff’s car, allegedly causing personal injuries to the minor.
The complaint states that Mehmedovic was negligent in failing to keep a proper lookout and follow traffic regulations; and that his employer was mistaken in granting permissive use of the company vehicle, alleging gross negligence involving “an extreme degree of risk considering the probability and magnitude of potential harm to others.”
Tamesha Baylor alleges pain and anguish, physical impairment, disfigurement, loss of wages and earning capacity, and medical and rehabilitative expenses. Requesting compensation for damages, pre- and post-judgment interest, attorney’s fees, expenses, and costs, the plaintiffs are represented by B. Gregg Price of Sulphur Springs, TX.
