A Beaumont resident filed for a restraining order and request for injunction against a property management company for his allegedly unlawful pending eviction.
Wingrove Robinson filed a complaint against Raintree Tower Apartments in Jefferson County District Court on July 10, claiming unlawful property management procedure in July.
According to the suit, the plaintiff, who resides at 3030 French Road #418 in Beaumont, was served with a notice on or about July 1. The defendant advised Robinson that his lease would not be renewed.
The suit states that Robinson believes the action was done in retaliation for a petition that he filed against Raintree and won in small claims court on or about May 14 for reimbursement of extermination fees. According to papers filed, the plaintiff “has always been a good tenant, paid his rent timely, and has never created any problems” during his residency.
The plaintiff argues that the defendant is retaliating against him illegally; the suit includes an affidavit supporting his allegation.
Robinson requests a temporary restraining order to prevent his eviction and injunctive action to void the court-ordered eviction notice. He seeks up to $100,000 in compensation for damages, attorney’s fees, expenses, and costs.
The plaintiff is represented by Anne Bradley Law of Beaumont.
