Woman faults driver with negligence in car collision

A Galveston County woman is suing another driver for allegedly causing a car collision that left her with serious injuries.

Heather Triplet filed a lawsuit July 10 in the District Court of Galveston County against Gloria Perez Mulvaney, citing vehicular negligence in a 2014 automobile accident.

According to the filing, on around March 2, 2014, Triplet was waiting at a red light on Spur 342 when Mulvaney's motor vehicle collided with Triplet's vehicle.

The suit states that Mulvaney operated her vehicle in a reckless manner and failed to keep a proper lookout, control her speed, probably apply her brakes or yield right of way. She is also faulted with other violations of the Texas Transportation Code, including driving with willful or wanton disregard for the safety of prisons or property.

Triplet claims that as a result of the car accident she has and will continue to endure physical pain, mental anguish, physical impairment, limitation of activities, medical expenses, the loss of an enjoyable life and lost wages.

The plaintiff seeks damages in excess of $200,000, plus court costs and other relief deemed appropriate by the court. She is being represented by attorney Jonathan Bleyer of Mukerji Law Firm in Houston.

District Court of Galveston County case number: 15-CV-0707.
