An international shipping vessel is being sued by a Beaumont city health company, which alleges the vessel has not paid them for medical services rendered.
Central Healthcare Services Inc. filed a suit June 9 in the Beaumont Division of the Eastern District of Texas against Ravni Kotari Shipping LTD, a bulk carrier and sea vessel, and Tankerska Plovidba LTD, claiming they owe Central Healthcare unpaid medical service bills.
On Aug. 4, 2014, a captain contacted Aztec Marine, who contacted Central Healthcare, requesting medical treatment for a cook on board the ship. Central Healthcare arranged for the provision of medical services for the cook at Baptist Hospitals of Southeast Texas. Charges for medical services and medications totaled $149,448.07 dollars.
On Sept. 19, 2014, Central Healthcare provided the defendants’ representatives with an invoice for medical services rendered to Ravni Kotari. Despite amicable demand conveyed to its agents and representatives, the plaintiffs claim neither Ravni Kotari nor Tankerska paid Central Healthcare’s invoice.
The plaintiff is seeking to recover the principal amount of $149,448.07 in addition to all litigation costs and expenses. Central Healthcare is represented by attorney Paul Gertz of the the Gertz Law Firm in Beaumont.
