A worker is suing Texas-based oilfield service companies, alleging they did not pay overtime.

Matlock Stanley, individually and for all others similarly situated, filed a collective action lawsuit Aug. 11 in the Houston Division of the Southern District of Texas against Vision Guidance Services, Maverick Directional Services, Maverick Directional Services I, Maverick Directional Services International and Maverick Directional Training Services, alleging unpaid overtime in violation of the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA).

The complaint alleges the defendants' employees were scheduled to work 84 hours per week but often worked more and were paid a base salary plus a day-rate instead of an hourly pay-rate.

Regardless of how many hours the defendants' employees worked, they were not paid for overtime, violating sections of the FLSA that state employees must be paid compensation for more than 40 hours worked per week, according to the suit.

Stanley and the others seek compensation for the unpaid back wages, plus court costs. He is represented by attorneys Michael A. Josephson, Lindsay R. Itkin, Andrew W. Dunlap and Jessica M.
