Stop-n-Drive owner sued following car accident in store's parking lot

Two Port Arthur residents are suing a Hardin County resident and his store following a vehicle accident in the store's parking lot.

Dedrick Montgomery and Lawanda Spooner filed a complaint Aug. 14 in Jefferson County District Court against Sabir Inc.; doing business as Stop-n-Drive No. 7, Sabir Inc. Stop-n-Drive 7, and Sabir Inc. Stop-n-Shop 7; and Sabir Khairullah, alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, Khairullah's vehicle struck the plaintiffs' vehicle in the parking lot of Stop-n-Drive No. 7 on 2500 Gulfway Drive, resulting in injuries to the plaintiff, on Sept. 13, 2013.

The complaint alleges that Montgomery suffered injuries to his neck, back, and other body parts, and Spooner suffered injuries to her back and other body parts.

The plaintiffs seek actual damages, plus court costs.

They are represented by David Buckley, PLLC in Houston.
