A Polk County resident is suing his former employer following a jobsite accident.

Arnulfo Damian Arroyo filed a complaint Aug. 18 in Jefferson County District Court against Seal Capital LLC, alleging negligence and gross negligence.

On April 3, while employed by Ramiro Zavala as a cement contractor laborer on a jobsite for Seal Capital, Arroyo was gathering tools and plywood from a trailer attached to the back of a company truck when a front-end loader struck him from behind, pinning him against the back of the trailer and crushing his legs, according to the complaint.

As a result of the accident, Arroyo has suffered painful and disfiguring injuries, has lost wages, and has incurred and will continue to incur medical expenses to treat his injuries, the complaint states.

The complaint alleges that Seal Capital was negligent in its failure to provide its employees with a safe workplace and proper equipment to prevent injuries on the job.

Arroyo seeks monetary relief of more than $1 million plus court costs. He is represented by Justin Carlisle of the Law Offices of Domingo Garcia, LLP in Houston.

Jefferson County District Court case number E-197452.
