GALVESTON – A Galveston County woman is suing on behalf of her younger friend after the child was allegedly attacked by a dog.

Veronica Watt, a resident of League City, filed suit in Galveston County District Court on Aug. 26, on behalf of an unnamed minor, against Jennifer Manuel, also of League City, citing negligence.

According to the complaint, on April 9, Manual allegedly allowed her dog to attack and bite the minor in the face, causing severe and debilitating damage to it. As a direct result, the child suffered a traumatic experience, along with facial scarring that required medical attention.

The plaintiff requests a jury trial in the matter and seeks judgment in actual, exemplary, and other damages, along with pre- and post-judgment interest, court costs, lost wages, loss of earning capacity, property damages, and any other relief as the court sees fit.

The plaintiff specifically seeks $300,000, plus court costs and damages. The plaintiff is represented by Jose Luis Orihuela of Orihuela & Associates PLLC of League City.
