A former employee is suing a car dealership, alleging unpaid overtime.

Victor A. Villegas filed a lawsuit Nov. 5 in the Houston Division of the Southern District of Texas against Alegria Auto Sales, alleging unpaid overtime wages in violation of the Fair Labor Standards Act.

According to the complaint, during the time Villegas worked for Alegria Auto Sales as a security guard, from January 2013 to September 2015, he regularly worked more than 80 hours or more per week and was switched between salary and hourly pay. The suit alleges the defendant never paid Villegas an overtime premium for time worked more than 40 hours per week.

Villegas seeks to recover unpaid overtime compensation, liquidated damages, attorney fees and court costs. He is represented by attorney Josef F. Buenker of Houston.
