Overtime

HOUSTON – A member of an administrative staff for a business that manages nursing, post-acute and Alzheimer’s facilities is claiming that the business has paid her a salary with no overtime pay for hours worked over 40 in a week.

Beth Robinson filed a class-action lawsuit Dec. 21 in the Houston Division of the Southern District of Texas against Life Care Centers of America citing a violation of the Fair Labor Standards Act.

According to the lawsuit, Robinson and other administrative staff work from approximately 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., Monday through Friday and occasionally on Saturdays and are not paid overtime.

Robinson is seeking all unpaid overtime compensation, liquidated damages and attorney’s fees, as well as an award of post-judgement interest on all amounts at the highest rate applicable by law. She is represented by attorney Derrick A. Reed of Reed PLLC in Pearland.
