Motorist, passenger blame Bucky Trucking, driver for crash

HOUSTON – A motorist and his passenger are suing a Canadian trucker and his employer, alleging negligence for injuries they says they suffered at a two-vehicle crash.

Ernesto Figuerado and Yurisan Mesa filed a lawsuit Jan. 20 in the Houston Division of the Southern District of Texas against David Till and Bucky Trucking Ltd. of Edmonton, Alberta, alleging negligence and malicious conduct.

According to the complaint, on Feb. 11, 2014, Figuerado was driving a 2006 Toyota Scion IQ in Harris County that was struck by an 18-wheeler driven by Till that was trying to make an improper wide right turn.

The suit says the plaintiffs incurred injuries, medical expenses, loss of earning capacity, physical pain and mental anguish. 

Figuerado and Yurisan seek compensatory damages of more than $75,000, pre-judgment and post-judgment interest, cost of suit and further relief the court deems just and equitable. They are represented by attorneys Matias J. Adrogue and Robert Stephan Kaase of Houston..
