GALVESTON – A Louisiana worker is suing a Houston-based drilling company, alleging negligence for fall aboard a vessel.

Joe Castillo filed a lawsuit Jan. 29 in Galveston County District Court against Parker Drilling Offshore Company, LLC alleging negligence and unseaworthiness.

According to the complaint, on Nov. 12, while performing his duties on a drilling barge, Castillo suffered serious and debilitating injuries when he slipped and fell into a rotary machine, which sliced open his left hand.

The suit says his injuries and resulting damages were caused by negligence and/or gross negligence of Parker Drilling.

Castillo seeks pecuniary and non-pecuniary damages and a jury trial. He is represented by attorney Marcus R. Spagnoletti of Spagnoletti & Co. in Houston.
