GALVESTON — A Galveston County woman is suing a former dog owner, alleging negligence for an altercation that she says resulted in injuries.

Cherie De Sues filed a lawsuit Feb. 9 in the Galveston County District Court against Freelander Little, alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, on Oct. 6, 2015, De Sues was working in her yard when she noticed Little’s dog running freely around the neighborhood. A car struck the dog and and when De Sues noticed it was dead, she took the dog to Little’s home, at 5405 Ave. L Galveston, to tell her what happened, the suit states.

When De Sues approached Little at the top of the flight of stairs at Little’s home, the lawsuit says, Little flew down the stairs and reached out to choke De Sues. The suit alleges Little pushed De Sues down the stairs, which resulted in severe injuries, including a tibial fracture of her leg.

The plaintiff says she had emergency surgery to stabilize the leg, three more surgeries in an attempt to further stabilize and correct the deformity in her leg and now suffers from postural hypotension.

De Sues seeks judgment against Little, damages in excess of the minimum jurisdictional limits of the court, court costs and any further relief the court deems just. She is represented by attorney Joseph R. Willie II of Willie and Associates PC in Houston.
