BEAUMONT – A Jefferson County man and his wife have filed a petition to determine if the husband should file a claim over alleged injuries he suffered after being exposed to unknown chemicals while working at an operations plant.

Joshua and Patricia Walter filed a petition Feb. 17 in Jefferson County District Court seeking to investigate a claim for damages arising out of alleged injuries and damages to Joshua Walter.

On Jan. 12, 2015, the lawsuit states, Joshua Walter, while working for WATCO Companies Inc. at a Kinder Morgan operations plant, was exposed to unknown chemicals or substances, which caused his eyes to burn. He also started having palpitations and shortness of breath, the suit says.

Plant management had Walter remove all of his clothing and made him change into new clothes, according to the petition, but plant management never told Walter what he was exposed to that day.

Joshua and Patricia Walter are represented by attorney Cody A. Dishon of The Ferguson Law Firm LLP of Beaumont.
