Former employee accuses Tyson Foods of unlawful employment practices

SHERMAN — A former employee is suing Tyson Foods, alleging assault and wrongful discharge.

Twain Miller of Grayson County filed a lawsuit March 29, in the Sherman Division of the Eastern District of Texas against Tyson Foods Inc. alleging failure to discipline and tolerating abusive practices by employees toward co-workers.

According to the complaint, between July 10, 2006 and April 30, 2015, Miller was struck and verbally abused by his immediate supervisor, which was witnessed by other co-workers. The suit says the plaintiff was blamed for the whole incident and was wrongfully discharged from work May 8, 2015. 

The plaintiff alleges Tyson tolerated abusive practices by the supervisor inside the work place despite multiple complaints already reported to management.

Miller seeks trial by jury, all damages, back pay and front pay, plus interest at the highest allowable rate, prejudgment and post-judgment interest, all legal fees and any other relief the court deems just.. He is represented by attorney Ronald R. Huff of Sherman.
