HOUSTON — Two employees are suing an energy services business, alleging unpaid wages and violation of workers compensation laws.
Michael Myers and Trever Balfour filed a class-action lawsuit April 15, individually and on behalf of all similarly situated persons, in the Houston Division of the Southern District of Texas against Superior Energy Services of Delaware Inc. and Wild Well Control Inc., alleging failure to fairly compensate employees and violating the Fair Labor Standards Act.
According to the complaint, between October 2014 and September 2015, Myers and Balfour worked more than 40 hours per week but did not receive any overtime pay. The plaintiffs allege the defendants had knowledge of how many hours their employees work but chose not to pay overtime for all the extra hours.
Myers and Balfour seek a trial by jury, all damages, unpaid wages, liquidated damages equal to the unpaid overtime wage, interest, all legal fees and any other relief the court deems just. They are represented by attorneys Josef F. Buenker and Vijay A. Pattisapu of Buenker Law in Houston.
