Employees allege restaurant/bakery failed to pay overtime

HOUSTON — Two employees are suing a group of Houston area bakery/restaurants, alleging failure to fairly compensate employees by paying overtime. overtime. 

Emma Becerra and Olga Torres filed a lawsuit April 20 in the Houston Division of the Southern District of Texas against Cafe & Bakery Mucho Mexico, Cafe & Bakery Mucho Mexico No. 2 , doing business as Norma Leticia Anzaldua, and Norma Leticia Anzaldua individually, alleging violations of the Fair Labor Standards Act in failing to fairly compensate employees.

According to the complaint, Becerra and Torres worked for more than 40 hours per week at the restaurants but were not paid any overtime. The plaintiffs allege the defendants had knowledge of the total hours their employees were working but failed to pay overtime wages.

Becerra and Torres seek full amount of their unpaid overtime compensation, liquidated damages equal to their unpaid overtime compensation, interest, all legal fees and any other relief the court deems just. They are represented by attorneys Mark Siurek and Patricia Haylon of Warren & Siurek LLP  in Houston.
